HRC 22/1 - Reconciliation and accountability in Sri Lanka

Promoting reconciliation and accountability in Sri Lanka

adopted 21 March 2013

This was the second resolution that the Human Rights Council adopted on the question of accountability in Sri Lanka. The resolution noted with concern that the Sri Lankan Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission and the national plan of action do not adequately address serious allegations of violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law and noted the High Commissioner's call for the establishment of an independent and credible international investigation. It called on the High Commissioner to provide a comprehensive report on these issues at the March 2014 session of the Human Rights Council.
